Independent Australian publishing

Books made to be
read for years, not weeks.

Page & Novel is a small independent imprint. We publish a short, carefully chosen list — each book closely edited and thoughtfully designed, made to last on the shelf and in the reading.

What we make

A publisher of few books, made well.

We would rather publish a handful of books we can stand behind entirely than a long list we cannot. Everything we do follows from that one decision.

01 / Editing

Close, patient editing

We work with each manuscript slowly and in detail, from structure down to the line. A book leaves us only when it is genuinely ready.

02 / Design

Design for reading

Typesetting, paper and binding are chosen for comfort and longevity — books that feel considered in the hand and hold up to being read again.

03 / Care

Made to last

We think in years, not seasons. Our aim is a small catalogue of titles worth keeping and returning to.

The craft

Every decision, from the sewing to the sentence.

An independent imprint gets to care about the whole object — how a page is set, how a spine is sewn, how a paragraph lands. We treat those choices as part of the writing, not an afterthought to it.

Our first titles are in production now. When the list is ready, you will find it here first.

Our first list is in preparation.

Page & Novel is preparing its first releases. We are taking the time to get them right rather than rushing them out. When our opening titles are ready, they will be announced here and available through our shop.
